when i was little my mom used to write me little notes, letters, and even poems. sometimes i found them under my pillow when i woke up. other times, there was a surprise message on the pages of my school notebook. i still dearly cherish two of these handwritten treasures – both are framed on the wall in our bedroom, next to leonardo’s crib. it’s the first thing i see when i wake up, and it’s the words i remember always: they echo in my mind when i feel happy or sad, reminding me about my strength and my safe place.
now, being a mother myself, i would like to devote this little note to my son:
“leonardo, I love you so so so much, and remember, noone will ever love you more than me, your mama.”
