El món neix en cada besada – The world is born with every kiss
the world is born with every kiss. it’s a name of a mural at Plaça Isidre Nonell in Barcelona that consists of thousands of lifestyle photos combined into a clever and sensual mosaics collage depicting a kiss. it couldn’t be more symbolic for your daddy and me.
it all started with a kiss, of course. in 2012 we met in Barcelona and fell in love. we were walking its streets hand in hand, kissing, daydreaming. passing by Placa Isidre Nonell in the charming Gothic Quarters, we saw a Vietnamese restaurant and decided to stay there for dinner. the place was full so we waited for the table, sitting outside on the low stools next to the restaurant’s windows, enjoying icey mojitos served by a smiley Catalan waiter. suddenly your daddy said, half jokingly: “you know, I always dreamt about marrying a Russian girl. I would love to marry you. would you marry me?” I looked at him and said out loud what I felt: “I would”.
it was the third days since we met. three years later we were there, on that plaza, again, together with you in a stroller. we came here to relive our story and to celebrate it with our friends who were coming from all around the world. our first wedding was in New York back in the fall, on Halloween. it was a black wedding, of course. now it was the time for white wedding, and there could not have been be a better background for this kind of shenagians than Barcelona.
white wedding in Barcelona was also a good excuse for us to go to Europe altogether. it was the first time you flew across the ocean (i wrote about this experience here, and the first time when you met your big brother Francesco who came from Italy to be with us. it was wonderful – friends and family, beautiful old city on the ocean, relaxed atmosphere of late summer.
